Asia’s first luxury ship Genting Dream was officially delivered by the German shipbuilder Meyer Werft to Genting Hong Kong. The special ceremony which was attended by dignitaries from the prestigious shipyard and Genting Hong Kong, involved the traditional Changing of the Flag ceremony where the Meyer Werft and German flags were lowered and the flags for Dream Cruises and the Bahamas were raised.

After the official handover, the Genting Dream started her epic ocean voyage that will take her from Germany to Gibraltar through the Mediterranean Sea and the Suez Canal, across the Indian Ocean with visits to India, Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong before ending at her new homeport in Nansha in China on November 13, 2016.

When she arrives in Singapore, there will be a special launch party to celebrate the first inaugural cruise. From Singapore, she will call at Danang and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. She will then stop in Hong Kong before sailing to to her homeport of Nansha for her official naming ceremony.

The Genting Dream will have over 2,000 crew members onboard which will mean the ship will have one of the highest staff to passenger ratios at sea.

Also onboard the Genting Dream will be the beautiful and decadent Dream Palace which is the VIP area onboard the ship. Featuring two floors of lavish suites, guests will be given a European trained butler and guests will be given special privileges.
