Asia’s largest ship, Ovation of the Seas was officially launched this week and will arrive in Asia in just 55 days. Ovation is currently making her way through Europe and the Middle East to her new homeport of Tianjin in China.
Built for the Asian and the Australian market, it was revealed she has features for the Chinese including a new Panda mascot and signage in both English and Mandarin.
She will spend several weeks in China before her official launch in Singapore on June 2. Her first sailing from Singapore is a three-night cruise to Malaysia and a 12-night cruise sailing to Tianjin and calling at ports in Vietnam, China and an overnight in Hong Kong.

- Fly in the sky iFly
Never seen before on any cruise ship, the RipCord by iFly is a skydiving simulator. Step into a wind tunnel, strong enough to push your entire body into the air so it feels as if you’re floating through the sky.
- SeaPlex
The SeaPlex is the largest indoor space ever at sea. Here, the entire family can jump into bumper cars and go for a spin, skate around the roller rink, shoot some hoops on the basketball court or grab a snack at the food truck.
- The Bionic Bar
Watch an amazing robotic arm make your cocktail in a minute. You can choose the flavours and mixers you want, and then watch the robots swirl and shake your drink right in front of you.
- FlowRider
Ever fancied trying to surf? On Ovation of the Seas, you’ll be able to experience the FlowRider, a surf simulator. There will be instructors there directing you how to ride the waves on this ride.
- Two70 & Vistarama
This special Royal Caribbean show is only available on Quantum-class ships. The line has transformed one of its spaces to have floor-to-ceiling screens which during the day, display scenes of the sea. By night, is transformed into an entertainment venue.
- Boutique shopping
If you want a little bit of retail therapy, Ovation of the Seas’ boutique stocks some of the finest jewellery, fashion, luxury watches and beauty. Guests onboard can pick up a Bvlgari or Hublot watch or a beautiful pair of diamond Regalia earrings.
- Specialty dining outlets
On Ovation of the Seas, you will have a choice of 16 different dining outlets, all of which serve amazing dishes. Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver partnered with Royal Caribbean to bring to you Jamie’s Italian, which serves fresh pasta. Or try Wonderland, a gastronomical restaurant where you will try Crispy Tempura Kim Chee Leaves or Vanishing Noodles.
- Cool cabins
The new virtual cabins on Ovation of the Seas means you will have views of the ocean, even from an Inside cabin. All guests are also given a wrist swipe pass so there you don’t need to carry any more cards to get into your stateroom. But if you’re looking for something decadent, the Royal Loft Suite is two-storeys and has a dining area, dedicated concierge and even your own private whirlpool.
- Feel fit
The Ovation of the Seas has a modern fitness centre so you can push yourself with cardio and resistance training. You can get your own personal trainer, or try the beach bootcamp classes. For those who want a quieter form of exercise, try Pilates or yoga in the state-of-the-art studios.
- Scintillating spa treatments
From massages, to facials, to acupuncture, the Vitality Spa on Ovation of the Seas has a huge range of beauty therapies. The spa uses products from brands such as Elemis, Bliss, La Therapie and Ionithermie which are used at the top salons around the world.
