Details announced for the new Majestic Princess


Princess Cruises has revealed details of its new Asian ship, the Majestic Princess, which is also hailed as the most luxurious vessel in its global fleet.

Onboard the Majestic Princess’, foodies will be able to feast at two new specialty restaurants. The first, Harmony, was created in partnership with Chef Richard Chen who was part of the first Chinese Michelin starred restaurant, Wing Lei in Wynn Lass Vegas. Chef Chen has created a menu of haute Chinese cuisine, serving his interpretation of classic Cantonese dishes.

The Majestic Princess will also have the new Le Bistrot in the atrium of the ship which will offer casual French home-style dining with a modern twist.

Guests will be able to feast on escargot casseroles, braised ox tongue and mushroom ragout along with baguettes, tarts and pastries.

The ship will also have the exclusive Chef’s Table Lumiere which is a venue where guests get a dining experience hosted by Princess’ Executive Chef. The degustation dining experience also includes a private gallery tour.

Also onboard will be the Crown Grill & Bar, serving top quality cuts of beef, chops and seafood and the Italian-themed restaurant Alfredo. Guests will also be served Neapolitan-style pizzas along with baked pasta dishes.

For those looking for something sumptuous during the day, the World Fresh Marketplace can try cuisines from the Mediterranean, colourful farmer market salads as well as a new East Meets West food specialty corner.

The ship’s design is influenced by fashion, art and history and is adorned with European finishes like marble, mosaic tile floors, polished woods and lush fabrics. The carpets are custom-designed and the ship also has hand-tufted rugs.

More than 80 per cent of the Majestic Princess staterooms include private balconies and all cabins feature the new Princess Luxury bed which is designed by sleep expert Dr Michael Breus.

On the Majestic Princess, there will be two new shows – the Fiera and Fantastic Journey. These musical shows feature an extraordinary cast of singers and dancers as well as elaborate costumes, stage productions as well as multimedia stage technology at sea.

Also on the Majestic Princess will be the signature SeaWalk, the first ever glass floor walkway at sea. For the shopaholics, the atrium has the nearly 1,100 square metres of luxury boutiques which include designer shops from Cartier, Bulgari and Chopard. Guests can also purchase leather goods from Burberry and Gucci along with watches from Montblanc, Longiness, Rado and Tissot.

Majestic Princess will sail on her inaugural voyage on April 4 next year, a five-day Adriatic Sea cruise roundtrip from Rome with stops in Kotor and Corfu. Following her maiden cruise, Majestic Princess will tour Europe on 7, 14, 21 and 28 day cruises departing from Rome, Barcelona or Athens.

A repositioning voyage will depart Barcelona on May 14, 2017, visiting Dubai and Singapore before arriving in Shanghai, the ship’s new home. Majestic Princess will begin its first cruise from its homeport in Shanghai on July 11, 2017 carrying 3560 guests to a variety of destinations in Japan and Korea.
