British-American luxury line, Cunard, rolls out a brand new exclusive spa named Mareel Wellness & Beauty across their entire fleet.

The line exclusive spa was developed in partnership with Canyon Ranch and made its debut on Queen Elizabeth in December 2018 after coming out of her dry dock in France.

Queen Victoria was also fitted out with the new spa later that month and it would come onboard Queen Mary 2 in November 2020.

Mareel, meaning phosphorescence of the ocean, “is taken from the ancient Norse language and speaks to the illuminating light and healing energy of the sea,” said Cunard.

The spa décor, which features hues of blue, green and pale coral, speaks to its name.

The spa introduces a new signature treatment, “Ocean Discovery”, which features organic marine-based products from VOYA, which replenishes and nourishes the skin and body.

A new range of ocean inspired massage, body and alternative treatments is also rolled out to complement the aqua therapy center, harnessing the healing power of water.

Other new offerings in Mareel include a couple’s suite for seaweed bathing rituals, a meditation room with acoustic resonance loungers, a redesigned fitness center and studio space, and sound therapy facilities in every treatment room.

They have also introduced a range of luxury products from Red Flower, Shankara and Environ, which have been selected for their socially responsible production techniques with organic ingredients that are sustainably harvested, wild-picked, biodynamic and toxin-free.

Mareel will also feature enhanced wellness experiences across the ship’s daily activity program including stretch and daily meditation videos shown on stateroom TVs, wellness seminars, and outdoor dance and yoga classes.

Cunard’s VP Marketing, Angus Struthers, said: “We are delighted to share news of Mareel Wellness & Beauty, Cunard’s first ever own spa concept. Wellbeing is key to life, and feeling relaxed in mind and body is an important part of any holiday, and we are thrilled to offer such a luxurious spa at sea for our guests.”
