New Star Cruises megaships announced for Asia

Asia will be getting two more megaships with the capacity to be able to accommodate for around 5,000 passengers.

Star Cruises announced this week that it would be delivering two ships under its new Global Class which will be delivered by 2019 and 2020.

These ships will be purpose built for the Chinese market and will include amazing restaurants, the best duty-free shopping as well as some exciting onboard activities.

“Passengers on our “Global Class” ships will enjoy an international class cruise experience to all parts of the world, yet in an environment where they will feel at home, whether it is food, culture, shows, enrichment programs or excursions,” says Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay.  “With the first two ships, we are focused on delivering a world-class vacation experience for Chinese cruise passengers at an affordable price whilst enjoying fun-filled onboard and on-land adventures in many cities in the most seamless way, without the necessity of checking-in and checking-out of airports and hotels.”

Star Cruises announced it would be ordering two ships in the Global Class series which will be designed with Chinese characteristics. The ships will be deployed for the Chinese market.
