The world’s largest ship, Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas arrived at Southampton where she will pick up her first passengers.

She is so big, she has seven distinct neighbourhood concepts which are exclusive to the line’s Oasis-class ships.

She’ll also have some thrill seeking activities like The Ultimate Abyss which is the tallest slide at sea with a 10-storey plunge, robot bartenders at The Bionic Bar, virtual balconies with real-time views of the destination.

After 32 months of construction, Harmony becomes the 25th ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet.

“Harmony of the Seas is redefining cruise holidays and intriguing a new generation of travellers with a bold and unexpected line-up of first at sea innovations, while enticing them to explore the world from a new perspective,” said Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.

“From thrilling onboard activities and experiences to visiting awe-inspiring destinations across the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, Harmony places guests at the forefront and encourages them to create their own adventures onboard and at every destination.

Harmony of the Seas will sail from Southampton in the UK on a series of short getaways to Northern Europe before embarking on her maiden cruise on May 29 arriving in Barcelona, Spain.

In November 2016, Harmony will arrive at her homeport of Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale in Florida where she will offer seven-night eastern and western Caribbean sailings.

Check out five of the coolest things you can do on Harmony of the Seas.

Zip line across the ship

One of the new features on Harmony of the Seas is the new zip line above the boardwalk. This thrill seeking activity has been installed nine decks in the air and is 24.9 metres in length so you’ll be belaying yourself over your fellow passengers.

Slide down The Ultimate Abyss

It’s the longest slide at sea – The Ultimate Abyss, the heart pumping slide which takes roughly 14 seconds to slide down. Those who dare, can reach speeds of up to 35kph. It’s definitely not an activity for the faint of heart.

Try the trio of water slides

The Perfect Storm, a trio of water slides onboard Harmony of the Seas which are three decks in height, are named the Cyclone, Typhoon and Supercell. This is a perfect activity for the entire family.

Feast like Alice in Wonderland

Since the Wonderland restaurant debuted on Quantum of the Seas, this whimsical restaurant has been extremely popular for the inventive cuisine. Onboard Harmony, the restaurant will span over two floors and will serve dishes like Liquid Lobster served with bone marrow and caviar, Crispy Tempura Kim Chee Leaves with marinated melon as well as Molten Chocolate Cake.

Let a robot make your cocktail

If you haven’t heard, Royal Caribbean has created the amazing Bionic Bar where guests can watch a robot mix, shake and stir your cocktail. Key in your flavour profile – whether you’re a whisky, gin or vodka drinker – you’ll get to see this technological advancement in action.
